This fairly easy task is often left to the Vet. I decided to do it myself because Leo builds plaque really fast so he would need it twice a year and that would mean two anesthesia a year. So I decided to desensitize them about being held that way and introduced them to the teeth cleaning kit. Here is the video with few insight for you, if you decide to do the same.

Keep in mind that brushing the teeth or giving your dog some teeth cleaning treats can prevent that build up.
