Pork Loins, Ground Turkey And Kidney Beans
This recipe is fairly easy and doesn’t require expensive kitchen equipment.
For one dog that requires about 1’000 calories a day, you’ll need for a week worth of meals:
– 1 lbs of kidney beans
– 4.5 lbs of pork loins (Sam’s club has usually the cheapest price about $2.30/lbs)
– 2 lbs of ground turkey (93/7 Sam’s also has really decent price on it $4.15/lbs)
I boil the turkey in a deep pan until it reaches 165F internal temp. in the meantime I put roast the pork in the oven (I cover the loin that I sliced in 3 in thick slices with water it speeds up the cooking). When pork internal temp reaches 145F for at least 20 minutes i turn it off. I cook the beans separately. When everything is cool i blend it together. A regular blender is fine. Divide that into 7 containers. I always have 3 days in the fridge and rest in the freezer. Every evening when we finish the current day one we pull on from the freezer to thaw for the next 2 days.
You can top it off when serving with some carrots, apple, broccolis…
Again it’s budget friendly, with human grade food. My dogs thrive in it.
